Showhall opens at 6:30 am
Judging begins at 9:00 am
Jr. Showmanship at 1:00 pm
Showhall closes at 5:00 pm

Sunday:
Showhall opens at 7:00
Judging resumes at 9:00 am
Coop-out at 11:00 am (or sooner)

Junior Showmanship Contest

The Heartland Classic will once again host our Junior Showmanship Contest on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
There will be classes for Beginner (6-9), Intermediate (10-13), and Senior (14-16).
Registration is free to all Junior Exhibitors.
Sign up will be at the Main Table, the day of the Contest.

Show Information

1--Entries will be accepted for all recognized breeds of large fowl & bantam chickens and large fowl & bantam ducks.
2--Entries must be postmarked no later than Monday, March 8th.
3--The Heartland Classic reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason.
4--Entry fee must accompany all entries. Fees are $2.50 per entry, $5.00 per double coop.
5--Double cooping is available for large fowl. Double coop must be clearly marked on entry form.
6--Mail entries to: Tom Wheeler, P.O. Box 351, Marion, IL 62959. No phone in entries allowed.
7--Make checks payable to the Heartland Classic Poultry Association.
8--All birds must originate from a Pullorum-free flock. Health papers will be checked by State Authorities!
9--The show will be governed by A.P.A and A.B.A. rules.
10-The Heartland Classic is not responsible for loss, theft or injury of birds.
11-Any birds deemed sick will be immediately removed from the show hall.
12-Only the clerk & judge will be allowed in the aisle during judging! This will be strickly enforced.
13-Feed will be provided, but birds must be fed by their owners.
14-Birds will be released no later than 11:00 am on Sunday.
15-Birds can not be cooped out until officially released.
Any exhibitor cooping out early will be stripped of awards, points, and will not be allowed to show in the future.
16-Any situation not covered in the rules will be resolved by Heartland Classic show officials.
17-Sales coops available for $2.50 each.

Hotel & Show Headquarters

The show headquarters for our event will be the Victorian Inn of Cape Girardeau, MO. This Hotel features an indoor pool and hot tub, so be sure and bring the kids. This will be the location of our Saturday evening Hospitality Gathering. Reserve your room early, as they went quickly last year. Reservations can be made at 1-800-331-0445. Be sure to tell them you are with the Heartland Classic Poultry Association.

Hospitality Gathering

The Heartland Classic Poultry Association will be hosting a Hospitality Gathering for all exhibitors and their families on Saturday evening at the Victorian Inn. Take the opportunity to relax and talk birds with all of your poultry friends. Free appetizers and drink will be on hand, so come join us for an evening of fun.

Red Hill Bantam Club Appreciation Award

Each year, the Heartland Classic gives special recognition to the exhibitor winning Champion Display of Show. This award is in honor of the Red Hill Bantam Club, and their gracious generosity which has allowed our club to grow. The winning exhibitor will have their name engraved on a perpetual plaque, and placed on display at future shows.
