2003 PRFC NATIONAL SHOW

Our 2003 National was held at the Illini Poultry Club Show in Belvidere, Illinois on September 13-14. The Illini Poultry Club puts on a first class show. Fourteen Club members plus three Juniors exhibited 157 Plymouth Rocks. There were 54 Large Fowl, 79 Bantams and 24 Junior Birds shown. Kirk Keene judged our National. Though our numbers were down, the quality was outstanding. At this time of year many birds are in a moult. This along with the short notice on where our National was to be placed contributed to lower numbers.

The White pullet was Champion SCCL and Reserve Bantam by Twin Cedar. Twin Cedar had Champion Bantam Display of the Show on White Rocks.

This was an outstanding class of White Large Fowl. Don Karasek judged the Junior Birds.

We thank the Plymouth Rock Club of Australia for the awards that they sent to us for our National. They sent beautiful embroidered sashes for Champion and Reserve Bantam and Large Fowl, certificates for Champion and Reserve Champion Plymouth Rock and certificates for Champion Bantam and Large Fowl Barred Rock. Earl Jones donated $25.00 in memory of Ruth Whitney for Champion Barred Large Fowl.

District two Director, Richard Hickman donated an afghan that he made for our raffle. We will be selling tickets on it until the Rock-N-Red Show where the drawing will be held.
